JULY 19 - JULY 24
Gallery North is pleased to present the 12th Annual Gallery North/Joseph Reboli Wet Paint Festival, a tribute to late artist Joseph Reboli and a celebration of plein air painting. Joseph Reboli, a native of Long Island, was known for his ability to create finely detailed paintings of well-known locations, including local beaches, the Three Village area and Block Island. Artists of all styles will paint at The Gamecock Cottage in Stony Brook, July 15, 16 and 17. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to observe some of Long Island’s top plein air painters as they capture the area’s historic and natural beauty. On Saturday, July 16th, Barbara Russell, historian for the Town of Brookhaven and Bev Tyler, historian for the Three Village Historical Society will provide special walking tours of the area. The Gamecock Cottage will be open for visitors during the tour. All those interested in the tour should meet at the Pavillion at 10:30am. All work created by participating artists of the festival will be shown alongside work by Joseph Reboli at an exhibition at Gallery North beginning Tuesday, July 19 thru Sunday, July 24. A reception for the show will be held on Thursday, July 21 from 5pm-8pm. All work will be for sale.
